Winners will be announced at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday May 15. She has previously taken out the top gong in the RnB category of the same competition, fingers crossed for a repeat performance. She has recorded her unique blend of Pop, Soul and Funk onto four-track analogue tape – just as the 1960s Soul artists who inspired her would have done.

Two dance remixes were added by up-and-coming producers, The Primary Colour (Melb) and internationally renowned House producer, Lunabass (Adl). The result seamlessly blends “retro” with the sounds of 2012 and will be issued as a limited release vinyl record, as well as CD.

Jayne-Anne said recording straight to analogue tape was like a step back in time.

“It was an exciting experience recording our EP the way the soul greats would have done,” Jayne-Anne said.

“The project was recorded completely live with no effects, relying totally on the quality of the musician’s performances. It was all done in one afternoon.”

“These days you can fix just about anything in the studio. Recording to tape is just good old fashioned performances with no safety net – it really was an adrenaline rush!”.
